Our Story

Chess can often be seen as a complex and daunting game that requires years of learning and perseverance, which often deters people from starting. This is especially true for young children who don't know where to begin. At BloominChess, our passion for chess extends beyond the board as we understand the importance of the diverse skills that chess can help develop in young kids including problem-solving, critical and strategic thinking, and time management. That's why we designed a program specifically created with young students in mind to provide them with the tools and fundamentals to excel in the game of chess all the while having fun doing so. Curated for each lesson to be 15 mins or less with ample time to pause and digest, the video-lead courses taught by our former Quebec Chess Champion, Steven Bloom, are concise, engaging and informative, ensuring that students learn the concepts with their full attention.
